It's almost here: All TV stations go digital on June 12

Action Alert  |   June 8, 2009

Dear Friends,

So far, Main Street Project has helped nearly 9,000 people get ready for the transition from analog to digital TV. That's the good news.

But while people are more prepared that they were a few months ago, we know there are still those in danger of having no TV access at all on June 12. And because TV is the primary or sole source for news and emergency information for many, that's a problem.

Here's how you can help:

Make sure that people you're connected with are ready to receive digital TV signals on June 12.

Donate your unused government converter box coupons at DonateDTV.com

Share these resources that can help people get ready:

  • Order $40 government coupons for converter boxes at DTV2009.gov or call 1-888-DTV.2009.

  • Order a converter box for no extra cost, and free shipping - with a government coupon - from FreeDTVshop.com (our friends at Mosquito Productions).

  • Get help in English, Hmong, Lao, Spanish and Somali at our June 12 event in Powderhorn Park, Minneapolis. Along with our transition partners, we'll help demonstrate how to hook up converter boxes, help people order converter box coupons (can be ordered through July), and offer no-cost converter boxes to people with valid coupons.
