Main Street Project 2007 in Review

Main Street Project 2007 in Review: Building Momentum in Rural America

We see possibilities.

  • What if more rural community residents were actively involved in civic life?
  • What if communities had the tools to rebuild their economies with local, home-grown businesses?
  • What if more people saw all cultures and languages as strengths rather than barriers?
  • What if rural youth had the opportunity to help shape their future?
  • What if rural media had the resources to inform and engage communities on the critical issues they face?

During 2007, the Main Street Project continued to give rural communities and leaders the tools to turn possibilities into realities. With each program, initiative and relationship, we helped build cultural bridges and create hope for a vibrant, sustainable future. We helped an increasingly diverse rural America begin to find its collective voice and its strength.
