FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Main Street Project Program Director to Participate in National Forum

MINNEAPOLIS (June 4, 2008)—Amalia Anderson, Program Director for The Main Street Project will be a panelist for the Live from Main Street: Getting Heard this Election Season: What Stands Between the Public and a True Story forum discussing election issues at both a national and grassroots level.

The event will begin at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Woman’s Club of Minneapolis, 410 Oak Grove Street in Minneapolis. The event is free and open to the public

The panel, composed of local and national leaders, will be broadcast nationally; focusing on local issues affecting individuals during this historic election season, including what is working in the Twin Cities that could work nationally.

As the national spotlight will begin to focus on Minneapolis, Anderson believes that the Live from Main Street event will be an excellent tool to begin an election discussion.

"The Live From Main Street event is a fantastic opportunity to further demonstrate Minnesota’s commitment to civic engagement efforts and ensuring democracy for all."
